About Karen

Karen Morrison is an award winning jewellery designer and silversmith creating fine and demi-fine jewellery which is described as feminine and edgy with a rock chic vibe. Timeless and handmade designed to be worn everyday.

Karen first studied Fashion Design in her hometown of Glasgow, then moved to London where she worked as a Fashion Model for many years. Feeling the urge to learn more, Karen studied Jewellery, Art and Design in London, then worked with a range of respected designers to learn more about the trade.

That was around 20 years ago, now all of Karen's work is created by hand in her South London studio in vibrant Brixton. She employs ancient lost wax casting techniques and works with Hatton Garden experts for stone setting and gold plating. Karen carefully selects the most gorgeous precious and semi-gemstones and pearls, combined with mixed precious metals.
Each piece is handmade and no two pieces are identical, making each piece unique.

Karen is inspired by the natural environment and has a life-long passion for fashion, both contemporary and vintage. She is also influenced by photography, architecture, film, music, the Art Deco period.

She was named as one of the UK's Hot 100 jewellers in Professional Jeweller magazine, listed in the 'Trendsetter' category for her contribution to the industry in 2013. In 2012 Karen collaborated with Topshop's design team to design and produce the jewellery for their Topshop UNIQUE S/S 13' catwalk show. And in 2014 & 2009 Karen was nominated in the Scottish Fashion Awards for jewellery/accessory designer of the year.
